1860 Colt Revolver Serial #72906

Cased Colt Model 1860 Army Revolver (serial number 72906 mfg. 1862) in Exceptional Condition, with Accessories.

.44 cal., 6-shot cylinder with roll-engraved naval engagement scene, 8” barrel marked “ – ADDRESS COL. SAML COLT NEW-YORK U.S. AMERICA - .” Left side of cylinder stamped “COLTS PATENT”.  One-piece walnut grips. Wooden case, lined in red velvet, with accessories. Box construction is finger jointed.  Hunting scene powder flask embossed on both sides, copper container with percussion caps; lead bullets; wood and brass loading assist tool are not original with the gun. Matching parts numbers on all visible parts. There doesn't appear to be a caliber number anywhere visible.

Condition:Excellent. Showing 98% bright blue and 99% vivid colors to case-hardening, minor marks on blued surface, amount of blue remaining, rest of backstrap with 99% bright blue. mellow patina to brass. Crisp markings and cylinder scene. Grips with oil finish. Minor fading and wear to velvet case lining. Top of box has some finish degradation.
